Less than five hours on a plane?
Tons of pelagics?
Yes, yes, and yes!
Socorro has been added to our list of places we can’t wait to get back to. We spent 11 nights diving the Revillagigedo Archipelago from the comfort of the massive Socorro Vortex and a few days snorkeling with their Pelagic Safari’s day boat out of Cabo afterwards.
Once out in Socorro we hit all the hotspots from The Boiler to Roca Partida and El Cañon and had almost all the hot encounters. Dolphins, mantas, silvertips, Galapagos, white tip reef, silkys, hammerheads and whalesharks. Giant yellowfin tuna that stare right through you as they come close enough to make you take your eye away from the viewfinder instead of snapping the photo you’ve been waiting for.
The action continued in Cabo with daily freediving sessions with schools of mobula rays and almost continuous whale sightings and even a few close breaches.
Let us know if you’re interested in joining us for our next Socorro and Pelagic Safari trip. Want to see some hammerheads up close and personal? Join us this August for Cocos!
